PAIA Manual

This manual is published in terms of Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (PAIA), as amended, and serves as the KHUKHOS manual for access to information requests. It outlines the categories of records held and the procedure for requesting access.

KHUKHO'S Financial Services, trading as KHUKHOS, is a private body as defined in PAIA. This manual applies to records held by KHUKHOS in the course of providing professional financial management services.

Our Information Officer is responsible for PAIA requests and can be contacted at admin@khukhos.co.za. The Information Officer coordinates responses in line with PAIA and the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Categories of records held include client and engagement records, financial and accounting records, tax and statutory submissions, company records, personnel records, and records required by law to be kept. Access to certain records may be subject to grounds of refusal under PAIA.

A request for access must be made on the prescribed PAIA request form (Form C), submitted to the Information Officer with sufficient detail to identify the record requested. Requests can be sent to admin@khukhos.co.za.

Access may be refused on grounds set out in PAIA, including the protection of personal information of third parties, confidential commercial information, and legally privileged records. We will provide reasons for any refusal.

A request fee and access fee may be payable as prescribed by PAIA regulations. We will advise you of any applicable fees before processing the request.

If access is refused, you may lodge an internal appeal in writing. Thereafter you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforeg@inforegulator.org.za.
